Maureen Ferreira-Walters is specialized in tax law, namely in domestic and international tax planning and tax consultancy.
She earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International Tax Law from the University of Leiden, NL (2008), a Certificate of Specialization in Tax Law from Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos Tributários – IBET (2004) and a J.D. degree from Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1999).
She is enrolled in the Brazilian Bar since 2000, having received the Aguiar Dias Award for passing the Bar exam with the third best score.
She acted as a tax consultant in Brazil and abroad and assisted countless undertakings in optimizing their tax burden in Brazil and abroad.
She taught Tax Law, Tax Planning and Succession Planning in Fundação Getúlio Vargas’ and IBMEC’s post-graduation programs.
